On/off bleeding, abnormal, not on BCPsFrom: Susan (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 30 Sep 2003 14:09:08 -0500 (CDT)
I am 24 and until a few months ago have had very regular periods (to the hour almost!) since the their onset at 13. Now I have light/browish-pink bleeding for a day or two when I should get my peiod or shortly after, then nothing for a few days, then a fairly normal period only shorter in length by about a day. Instead of getting my period every 28 days now it is anywhere from 30 to 40 days. It is also increasingly painful with horrible cramping and back pain. My PMS symptoms were never like this before. I do not use any artificial or medical forms of birth control, and have not had any problems in that region aside from UTIs and treatment of chlamydia over a year ago, which have both resolved. I plan on seeing a doctor in the near future but would like someone to answer the question in the mean time....I haven't changed anything aside from gaining weight and an increased stress level. Is that the cause? Thank you for your time.
