Bleeding during Intercourse...not just spotting

I am 33 years old and just changed to the evra patch a month ago at my annual exam, various STD test were done....HIV, Chlamydia(sp?), etc. Also a hemogloben test...all came back fine. I started the patch that day, 3 days later I experienced bleeding during intercourse(I estimate maybe 2 to 3 tablespoons, but blood always looks like more than it really is), I went to my doctor the next day and he attributed it to the patch...well, its one month later and this is still happening(every time I have sex), so I went in again and he still thinks it is the patch...he wants me too wait 2 to 3 cycles. Thats a lot of time...does this sound reasonable? My fear is that there is something seriously wrong and anothe month or two is a long time to wait and not to mention dealing with the bleeding that long.
