Period ConcernFrom: Vanessa (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 27 Sep 2003 22:12:37 -0500 (CDT)
I am 22 years old and have a question regarding my late period. Since April(this is when I *really* started making note of them and counting rather than estimating)my period has been exactly on time with 25 days between the start day of one cycle to another. Today my period is 12 days late. I figured this may be because of several changes in my normal lifestyle for the past 2-3 weeks including increased work time for overtime that of course has increased stress levels, sleep schedule, and eating all of which I know can generally cause menstration changes. Also in this same 2-3 week time period I had to take antibiotics and pain medicines for a tooth problem and unfortunatly that was followed by a stomach virus. As I said, I am well aware that all of these factors can change a cycle not to mention the additional stress I'm putting on myself worrying about when it will come. I have noticed something irregular though today and only slightly noticed it earlier in the week. I have spotted after masturbation (without penetration --if penetration is made, there is absolutly no spotting). For the past week and a half I have also had a mild discharge that is clear or only slightly yellowish(almost unnoticeable). There is no posibility of pregnancy from the late period(no sex since March). All of this is confusing me terribly. I am calling a recommended physician on Monday for an appointment but the time between the actual appointment and now is going to drive me crazy not having any clue what is giong on with me. I just want some information to calm me down. Any advice or suggestions that can be offered are very greatly appreciated. Thank you.
