My last period ended on September 8th. It began again on September 15th. Only one week later. I am twenty four years old. At seventeen I was diagnosed with poly cystic ovarian syndrome and have been on Ortho Tricyclen ever since. My periods have been like clockwork ever since I started on the pill. They last 6-7 days with only minor cramping. This odd period had a very heavy flow and was an unusually dark color. There were severe cramps at times. Now, 8 days later, I am still exepericing some minor spotting and cramping. I phoned my doctor but she never returned my call. As additional information, I am in a monogomous sexually active relationship. I was tested for all STDs about 4 months ago; all negative. I had a coloskopy (?) Slightly more invasive and advanced than a normal pap smear 4 months ago as well. A biopsy was taken because of sign of a possible lesion. It came back negative. What could be the reason for my double period?
