This happened to me one time after I had been on the pill for almost a year. I have always known when I ovulated - it's always been obvious. When I told my doctor about it, she looked at me like I was stupid and said "you don't ovulate on the pill - that's how it works". I think she just didn't want to take the time to bother with me. It is well known that the pill is not 100% effective and that is because sometimes breakthrough ovulation does occur. I switched to another brand at that visit and I haven't had that problem again. I've read that the pill stops ovulation 90% of the time; it also thins the uterine lining and makes the cervical mucus thicker for extra protection in case of that 10%. You might want to try a different prescription. I don't know whether monophasic or triphasic makes a difference, but a higher dose might help. You might want to use another Are you on any other medications? Some meds like thyroid or epilepsy drugs and antibiotics can decrease the effectiveness of the pill.
