Yes, a few women do have bleeding every month while they are pregnant, but it is not really a period. It would probably be lighter than a normal period. Then again, there are many factors that can cause your cycle to become irregular or change the amount of bleeding. By five months, you would have other symptoms of pregnancy. Maybe the change in sexual activity or some other lifestyle change has affected your hormones. Were you using the pill before and stopped recently? That could affect your cycle. Anyway, you're right about taking a test to be sure.
