Every pill is different for every person.

For me, The "ortho" pills worked well but I liked ortho cyclen better than tri cyclen--tri cyclen made me moody and gave me constant discharge. most pills don't cause weight gain; some people are suseptible to it. If you are concerned, consider raising your excerscise level for a while and see if you maintain or lose weight.

I started to gain weight on both pills after about 5 months; I found that if i switched pills every 5 months that I did not have this problem.
