There are lots of STDs and some of them do not have any symptoms at all...and yes they can cause infertility.

I would doubt that the changes in your period would indicate any problem.....I have always had small clots when I have my period. I think it is normal. Well, I know there is nothing wrong with me.

The itching and discharge that you have is probably due to a yeast infection (thrush) and can be treated very simply with products over the counter. This was probably nothing to do with the sex you had last year.

Having said that it is probably wise that you have a trip to the doctor to be checked out. It is unlikely that you have anything more serious than thrush, but I think that it would be wise to put your mind at risk. Worrying about STDs nearly a whole year after the event, can't be much fun. Next time, always use a condom....whatever the boy says :)
