Dia,

Not a doc but your Mother is absolutely correct, the only way to diagnose endomtetriosis is by laproscopy. Do you have painful periods every month or was it just this month? Sometimes docs will put a woman on continuous birth control to try to control the endo (take the active pills for 3 cycles and then have a period). You don't mention if your doctor is a gynecologist or not but your doc is definitely not taking your pain seriously, I would find another doctor if I were you and I would make sure it is a gyn. Also, it is common for ER docs not to diagnose gynecological problems, they mostly treat symptoms. Hope this helps, you might want to check out the endometriosis forum also. Good Luck!
