Hi there. I was just diagnosed myself and I by no means mean to answer your question as a doctor would but I noticed a response that said it wasn't genetic which by everything I've learned through what I've been told and what I've researched says otherwise. It really depends on how and why your sister got the disorder. It can be genetic and inherited. If it is caused by enzymes in her body there is a chance that it is genetic. I don't know if that means you are prone or not. I know that I am not the only one in my family with it, but the closest relation is a cousin... I have no sisters either though. I hope that this has helped... Courtney
