Heavy Intermenstrual bleeding, post sterilization. Previous message: Amy: "Avrimil" My girlfriend has been suffering from heavy post menstrual bleeding. This first occured two weeks ago, only three days after her last period had ended. She had a laparoscopic sterilization at the end of April. On the second(!) visit to an A and E a bimanual and speculum examination were carried out and she was given tranexamic acid but is still experiencing bleeding. There is no pain. It is also not due to a change in contraception as she was neither taking oral contraceptives or using an IUD prior to the sterilization. As you can probably tell I've done a little research here!
