What causes periods to 'skip'

I am 22 yo and have had my period since I was 11. I am usually like clockwork (every 30 days) with only occasionally being a few days late at times.

This month, however, I am already 6 days late (I am not sexually active, so I know I am not pregnant), and I JUST started ovulating 2 days ago, which means I know I won't start for another 2 weeks. I have also had some nausea and pelvic and back pain in the past two days, but it went away.

So, I was wondering, what can cause a seemingly healthy person to skip their period?
