Marleah,

Not a doc. I empathize with you, once you sprain your ankle like that it is much more likely for you to do it again. Make sure you have your ankle taped or wear a brace. With that being said an orthopod is the right person to ask this question to, this is an ob/gyn forum and the ankle is not one of the body parts they deal with. :)
