Likelyhood of insurance covering breast reductionFrom: Audrina (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 7 Aug 2003 01:09:17 -0500 (CDT)
i am 18 years old, and i have a size 32D to 32DD breasts, they are severly uncomfertable, i just graduated highschool, and throughout all gym classes, i could never run very well due the fact my breasts would begin to hurt, i am a swimmer, yet it is hard for my to find team suits to fit me because of their size, i usually cannot find bras to fit besides sports bras and they become severly uncomfertable, plus its hard to find a regular 2 piece suit to fit me, and its even hard to find shirts alot of the time as well, usually a med or large would fit perfectly fine, but wont fit over my breasts, i love being active, but i tend to get pain in my breasts when running and even sometimes walking... recently i have been thinking alot more about breast reduction, and i tried some searches on here to read other stories and i didnt turn up much of anything, and really i wanted to know the likelyhood that i choose to go ahead with this reduction, i certainly cant afford about 30,000-50,000 dollars on this, but having it done personally seems as though it would help me both physically and emotionally, so how do i go about finding out if insurance will cover these expenses? because i would want to do this sooner in life than later, but if need be i will start saving and saving until i can afford it, thats how much i feel i need this, however the insurance would help, so how am i to find out if it will cover this? or even find out if i really am within medical reasonings of getting this done?... sorry for the long drawn out question...
-- thanks in advance for you answers... ~Audrina Adell
