You can however contract STD's. The chances that you would get pregnant from anal sex are extremely low. Wait a few days and repeat the HPT, make sure you use the first morning urine as it is most concentrated. Please be aware that withdrawl is not a method of birth control, there are sperm in the pre-ejaculate fluid and it is enough to get you pregnant. You said your intercourse was protected so I assume that you mean you used a condom but this is important to know. Good Luck!
