>Lea, This sounds like bacterial vaginosis, NOT yeast. It is not caused by diet or her wardrobe. She needs to see a doctor for treatment. As far as yeast goes , there is no evidence it is caused by diet in a healthy individual. This is a misconception because diabetics are more prone to yeast infections. (which by the way are not true "infections"). BV is not sexually transmitted, so your mother should not be upset. If you think she will be anyway, go to your school nurse for help. Do NOT douche if you have BV!!!!!!! It can spread the infection further in the pelvic area. Tell the doctor that you've been douching so he/she can test you further and stop any spread.
