period problemFrom: anonymous@obgyn.netSun, 29 Jun 2003 00:13:30 -0500 (CDT)
I am a 17 year old female who has not started their period, and I think I might have primary amenorrhea. I'm not positive if I do because I have an aunt who started their period when they were 17, but my mom was about 12 or 13. Anyway, I was a gymnast until I was 15, and I am currently distance runner at my high school (running 30-40 miles a week). Could all of this activity be the result of not having my period? I read somewhere on this site that a teenager should be concerned if they have not started their period two years after their breasts begin to develop, and mine have been developing for about 5 years now (if that helps any).
