HPV, Yeast Infections, Pap'sFrom: Kris (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 24 Jun 2003 14:22:47 -0500 (CDT)
A year and a half ago I had an abnormal pap, after having a colposcopy it was found that HPV was present, I've since had one normal pap, one normal pap with yeast, and just recently I went back for a try at 3 normal paps. My doctor said there was a lot of mucus present and asked if I'd had any odor which I hadn't. She then took the pap and said that my cervix wanted to bleed and that I'd spot a little that day. She also said she wanted to look at it under a microscope. She did and said there was yeast so she perscribed diflucan. I've never had an abnormal pap or anything with yeast as of a year and a half ago. Then after this third pap, I did spot all that day and into the next, I've tried calling my doctor but they aren't the best of offices when working with patients (I am in the process of switching). I just feel very uncomfortable and am wondering what I can do? What does it mean that my cervix bled and continued bleeding, and is it because of the HPV that I'm now showing up with yeast on my pap results?
