Bumps on the penis (or any genitalia for that matter) could be a wide variety of things. It could be any number of different STD's that are characterized by bumps, or any number of conditions such as fordyce spots that are just a natural part of the male body. There is no way to know what these bumps are without physically seeing them or having them examined by a physician. If you thought something was wrong, you should have stopped what you were doing and asked your friend if he knows about these bumps. Do you trust your friend enough to know that if he had an STD, he would have told you first? You should ask your friend about these bumps to be sure.

I would say however, that as long as you washed your hands before doing anything else, that if this was an STD, hopfuly you avoided contracting it. But there is always the possibility that whatever these bumps are, they are not an STD. Ask your friend to be sure.
