breakthrough bleeding and discharge followed by a missed period

i have been on low dose birth control pills (mircette) for about 6 months and at first everything was running smoothly. i'm sure the pills were working because i got my period exactly on time and my cramps subsided greatly. however, last month, i had some breakthrough bleeding and discharge for a few days and i had a very short, light period. this month i had sex for the first time and used a condom. i experienced breakthrough bleeding again right int he middle of my cycle and this time it lasted for about a week and a day with some days heavier than others. i had sex only 3 times and used a condom every time. one time, the condom broke at the very beginning of the sex and we quickly replaced it and there was no sign of pre-ejaculation or semen. i am pretty certain that there is no way i can be pregnant, but i am worried about that as well as other problems since i had breakthrough bleeding AND am now missing my period. i have never missed a period in my entire life, so this is very strange for me. i don't know if it's possible that just having sex or being on birth control may have affected my cycle or that something else could be wrong. i called my gyno and she said that it should be ok, but that if i miss my period next month, i should have a pregnancy test. i dont know i can be stressed about this for that long!! please help me if anythign like this sounds familiar to you. thanks sooo much.
