Hi Trinity, Have you experienced any other symptoms along with the heavy painful periods? Make sure you explain EVERYTHING to the doctor becasue I experienced extremely painful periods and heavy bleeding (some that lasted a month!) at your age and it wasn't until 2 yrs later that I found out I had endometriosis, a disease of the reproduction system. Don't be alarmed, but its best to suggest to your doctor that he test you for this as although many go through life with bad periods, more than likely there is a reason. The other symptoms include: Lower back pain Pain on intercourse Lower abdominal pain Hope all goes well for you
