I know this is an ob/gyn area, but I'm in hopes that someone might catch this message and help give me some answers. I took my 16 year old daughter to the dr. last week and she was dx with slight pneumonia. She has trouble concentrating, getting things done, etc. Her grades really dropped. So she asked the dr. (pedi.) if she might have ADHD. He talked to her a great while. Blood work, thyroid, CBC and EEG was ordered. We heard today that thyroid is ok, bacteria found which was probably the pneumonia, and her ANA tested positive. We had to go have a Lupus Panel done today. He is not convinced about the ADHD and is even leaning toward seizures. EEG results are not back. I had hashimoto thyroiditis and take thyroid RX. They said my antibodies attacked my thyroid. I also tested positive for ANA. Could she inherit my problems? My daughter is very strong, plays softball competitively, and has always been very healthy. What are the chances this was a false positive and can one test positive without a disease? Is this ANA thing an early indication that something is brewing? Please help me out. I'm trying not to borrow trouble and for sure I don't want her to know I'm concerned. Thanks so much. kcee
