Being overweight can be a symptom of that, and perhaps that's why she wanted to do a pelvic. It's not typical to do a pelvic on an 11 year old, and if she thought something was potentially wrong she should have explained it to you in a non-alarming way you and not had an "attitude". Even when girls start their periods it's not necessary to do a pelvic. My daughter is 13 and her female pediatrician has never done a pelvic. She just observed her signs of puberty and noted she was on a normal timeline, and she began her period shortly before she turned 12. If you can't wait until your other doctor returns from maternity leave, I'd find a new one.
