I find that a bit sketchy. Is there any way you could reach your usual doctor and find out? Or...maybe call on the weekend and speak to the doctor that's on call and ask their opinion. I don't think that's a normal request...i don't see any reason as to why it should be necessary. Did you ask the doc why they wanted to do this? I would not go through with it.
