Birth Control OptionsFrom: Mel (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 29 May 2003 13:49:56 -0500 (CDT)
I am a 24-year old married virgin. My husband was a day away from having a vasectomy when a friend of his told him that a friend of a friend had problems with a vasectomy. Ugh! For my first time, I just can not imagine using anything like a condom that would get in the way and make it so planned. I am afraid that my only option is to get the pill or the patch or something on that line, which means that I would need a pap smear. I am so very against that because I have saved myself this long and then to have a doctor be touching me inside before my husband? It would just not be right. Are there any options that do not require inserting things into myself, having someone else invade my personal areas, and are reliable? I already have very bad periods that last 1-2 weeks with heavy bleeding. If I developed spotting I would freak. If only there was someway to just get rid of periods for good.
