Lapidus M.D.: "Re: need confirmation of this plz" I've been on ortho tricyclen for over a year, and have heard mixed stories about the time of day the pill needs to be taken. My doctor told me to take it at the same time, everyday, and if i'm early or late to use a back up. My friend, who is on the same pill, was told by her doctor that there is a 6 hr period where it is safe to take your pill (ie. anytime between 6pm and midnight) and a back up method is not needed.
