odds of pregnancy from missing a pillFrom: Melanie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 29 May 2003 09:39:31 -0500 (CDT)
I have searched all over the internet and seem to get different answers. I am on ortho tricyclen and I missed the second pill in a new pack, and made it up the next day. That was a week ago Monday. I thought that as long as you only missed one and made it up you're fine, and I had unprotected sex Friday of last week. I had some bleeding start earlier this week and I had a yeast infection at the same time, so I called my doc. The nurse said the bleeding was from missing the pill, and to use back up since it was early in the pack. I didn't know that when I had sex Friday. What are the odds missing the pill made me ovulate? As I said, I've researched it but some people say you only ovulate after missing three or four pills and some say you can after one. I know you are just going to tell me to wait for my period (in a week and a half) and take a test, but I just wanted to know if a lot of pregnancies result from one missed pill. Thanks,
-- Melanie
