Vaginal soreness/cracking due to pill?From: Simone (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 28 May 2003 21:58:00 -0500 (CDT)
I have been on the tricycline birth control pill for about 9 months now and I have been experiencing pain with intercourse that was not there previously with condoms. This is my first time using the pill and I am wondering how likely it is that it's causing my skin to be more sensitive? Also, I used to be very well naturally lubricated, but that has become less since the pill. Is this common also? I was told by a doctor that he thought that it was not likely that the pill was causing the soreness problem. Rather, he told me to make sure that I am relaxed and well lubricated before having intercourse. This is what I have been doing, but to no avail. My partner's penis is very wide and this must be contributing to the problem, as I've never had this ongoing problem with previous partners. The sore spot is at the opening to the vagina closest to the anal area and once or twice previously the skin even spit open there. I have also tried what a different doctor at Planned Parenthood prescribed, which was a hemmeroid medication to heal the split skin followed by me using a finger to stretch the skin each day for a while. Granted, I didn't followed this procedure for more than a few days, so I didn't fully give it a chance, but I'm wondering what other solutions there may be? I am hoping that it is not an uncorrectable situation because of the width of my partner! I am also using the pill to combat acne, so if switching pills may alleviate the problem could people please suggest another pill that may do the same job (Other than Diane 35) Thanks in advance for your help, I appreciate it.
