Burning during intercourse and afterwards

I have only had one sexual parnter and in the 4 years that we've been having sex this has happend on more than one occasion. When it occurred a few years ago I asked my doctor about it and he said that I just needed more lubrication, well I tried that. In the past two weeks I have attempted sexual intercourse and have been rather uncomfortable. I get this overpowerful burning sensation often through the session and then really bad after my partner withdraws. A cold cloth is my only relief. WE do not use condoms, we've tried lubrication and we've tried to wait a few days and try again and nothing seems to help. I did not know if there's something more to it than my body just acting up. I do not hav any other problems the rest of the day or following the session, it does not hurt or burn to urinate. If you could shed some light I would be forever grateful. I hate wasting a visit to the doctor for them to say nothing's wrong.
