Periods and Mom

I'll try to be concise in my question. I am 14 and have been menstruating for three years now. My periods are excessively heavy with nearly unbearable cramping that does not ease with the use of pain relievers, including prescriptions of high dosages of naproxen sodium. I have asked my mother about birth control and for two months she has promised to get me an appointment with my doctor for birth control, but keeps putting it off and not doing it. Any suggestions on what I can do? Thank you for your time.

Regards, Rebecca
