I have a question. About 4 days ago (Sunday morning about 1am) I had sex. I have been on the pill now for about 10 months and it has been working just fine. 3 days before I had sex (thursday) my period ended so I probably was not ovulating when I had sex. I began to take amoxicillin 500mg 2 days before I had sex and at the time of intercourse I had taken about 6 pills of the amoxicillin (1 pill 3 times a day). I did not use a back up method of birth control when I had sex, but afterward I did take another birth control pill (so I had 2 birth control pills in one day). I know that the issue of antibiotices decreasing effectiveness of birth control is controversial. But I am wondering what my chances of becoming pregnant (which I do not wish to become) are considering I most likely was not ovulating, I am still on and was taking the pill, but I had amoxicillin in my system as well? Thanks.
