Genital warts

In december I had a cone biopsy done because they found severe dysplasia on my cervix-they first said it wasn't HPV then after the surgery told me that it was in fact HPV. I have recently had a normal pap smear since--4 months later. However, I have also developed what my doctor said was genital warts. I am completely devestated about this. The HPV was enough to deal with let alone the warts which I hear are different strains. My boyfriend and I have been together for four years and neither of us have cheated. Is it possible for warts to lay dormant for that long? Could it have been the surgery that lowered my immune system thus causing an outbreak of these warts? My boyfriend has not shown any signs---he has a much better immune system than mine. We have continued to have sex like usual because he has obviously been exposed to the strain since we have been together so long. Is it possible that he wont develop warts like me? Thanks for your help----I greatly apperciate it.
