Hi.

I'm 23. I had sex at the end of March/beginning of April, right around the time that I was supposed to be ovulating. (I did NOT do this on purpose). I'm not regularly sexually active (it was the second time ever), but it happened. Anyway, I never got my period in the month of April. I took three pregnancy tests and all came out negative, and I haven't really had any symptoms of pregnancy. I was just able to secure an appointment w/ the gyno (I've never been.) for tomorrow. But, as luck would have it, I believe I just got my period.

My question is.... I feel like it's very important I see the doctor so I get some understanding of the medical context of this all. I want to know if maybe there's something else wrong with me. However, I'm afraid to go to the gyno with my period, especially since it'll be my first time. What should I do? Can you go to the gyno with your period? It just sounds kind of gross having someone conduct an exam while you have your period, assuming this is my period and not something else. (I have no idea what else it could be, but I just thought I'd throw that in there.) Can someone please give me some advice or maybe shed a little light on this situation????

Thanks!
