It's completely normal! Many people your age, younger and older have irregular cycles! My cousin is 19 and she gets her period once a year. She has had many tests run on her and nothing seems to be wrong. She is going to start the pill soon to regulate her periods. If you are really woried, perhaps you should do the same. I went on it to regulate mine and it worked like a charm. Try alesse or one that's a low dose of hormones. Ask your doctor about this, if you are concerned he/she shouldn't send you away!
