Re: Breakthrough bleeding: Is my birth control pill still working after 9 years? From: Lauren (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 24 Apr 2003 21:20:54 -0500 (CDT)
Hi Danielle... If you are concerned about your pill not working, then you should definately visit your gyn to get this figured out. It's also possible that it's still your body reacting from skipping your period so often...your body needs to cleanse itself and it's not healthy to skip your period for large chunks of time. You should use a condom until you see your doctor if you are afraid of getting pregnant...i wouldn't want you to take any chances. It's possible that you have just gotten used to the pill. You need to talk to your doctor so he/she can tell you if that's the case. You could just go through a few more cycles and see if this stops, but i would probably use another form of protection just incase, and that may be annoying to you. Also, switching pills might cause some side effects if your body is so used to the one you're on. Talk to your doc. Best of luck,
-- Lauren
