"Doing all that stuff" is not the same as knowing all that stuff. In fact, in my experience, a GP only does a PAP smear and there's more to a pelvic exam than that. A GP has a fraction of the training in gynecology as a gynecologist does, and in my experience they are not very good at it. Make an appointment with a gynecologist.
