3 yr old with ovarian teratoma?

My 3 yr old daughter recently had a renal ultrasound to follow up on a urinary tract infection. An incidental finding was a 2 cm "cyst" in the area of her right ovary. We have since learned from a surgeon that the radiologist felt that it is a teratoma, rather than a cyst, because she saw septations. A CT scan has been scheduled to try to determine whether it is a cyst or teratoma before a laparoscopy is performed. I have read a lot of the internet, more than I probably should, about teratomas. I'm afraid (1) that it could be cancerous & (2) that it will affect her fertility. I know I haven't provided many facts, but any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.
