How can I tell if I have PMDD or just bad PMS? in order to make the diagnosis of premenstrual dysphoria disorder, there are several criteria that need to be met. Physical Symptoms Emotional Symptoms Headaches, migraines Irritability Backache Sadness, depression Abdominal cramps Tearfulness Bloating, weight gain Anxiety, nervousness Breast tenderness anger, rage, hostility Hot flashes Low self-esteem Fatigue, lethargy Poor concentration Diarrhea, constipation Sleep disturbances Palpitations Wanting to be alone Nausea, lack or appetite Moody Skin changes, acne Oversensitivity Swelling of ankles, hands, feet Muscle spasms Insomnia/hypersomnia basically the difference between premenstrual dysphoria disorder and premenstrual syndrome is the severity of the symptoms. If you feel that you meet this criteria then you definitely need to take us up with your gynecologist for primary care physician
