Allergic to Birth control, but have Recurrent Ovarian CystFrom: Kay (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 3 Apr 2003 22:48:25 -0600 (CST)
Hello, I am 23, no babies, married for a year. I was on the depo shot since I was 16 ( to control terrible mood swings, and other pms stuff) I stopped the shot when I was 21 and started having ovarian cysts on my left ovary. Three so far and they were "large" (thats as specific as my Gyn got). Very painful, I bleed afterwards (late cycle cysts with long periods afterwards) with all three. They seem to be intensifing with each one. The last one made me vomit for several days, and stay balled up in bed. I know that birth control pills are what is used to treat these mean things, but I can't take them. They make me sick sick sick. I have tried several diffrent kinds, diffrent levels, the patch, everything, at all diffrent times of day, and with diffrent levels of food on my stomach. I just vomit for a week after I take one, no matter what I do. Any ideas on what to do now? Do the progesterone creams work? Should I be tested for PCOS? There is nothing regular about my periods either. Thanks so much for your help I have learned so much from this forum. It has comforted me to know that you take the time to help us.
