gartner's duct cyst in a newborn

My 3-month-old daughter was recently treated for a Gartner's duct cyst on the end of an ectopic ureter of a non-functioning right kidney. Her surgical procedure was to drain the cyst by cutting an extra 10mm in the opening of her ectopic ureter in her vagina. Our doctor has told us that our daughter's case is extremely rare and cannot inform us of the possible complications we can expect following this treatment. We are told we have to wait and see, and in the meantime we have scheduled further surgery to remove the undeveloped right kidney and ureter.

Is this case truly rare? Any information about complications in our daughter's future (for example, scar tissue causing trouble later on in her life, recurrences, etc.) will help.
