Bacterial Vaginitis

I have been fighting with recurring bacterial vaginitis for over a year now. I am and have been doing everything that my doctor has instructed me. Cotton underwear, no douching, no baths, only Dove bar soap, I try to eat yogurt as often as possible, I dont wear tight clothes. I dont normally get yeast infections just bacterial vaginitis. I shower mostly twice a day. I am clean, I keep my hair in that area shaved very low... just in case. I was using Acid Jelly once a week and at one point it seemed to work but now it isnt. I have one sexual partner and since latex irritates me we don't use condums.

Is it possible that the semen is causing this? Is there anything that I can do to stop having this? I am interested if there are studies that I could volunteer for as well.

Please advise. Is there anything that I can do or try?
