short menstrual cycles

My daughter is 20 years old and a virgin. Her menstrual cycles have been shorter lately. The following are some examples. Some sample cycles during the 2001-2 school year the cycles were 25; 28; 23; 24; 27 and 26 days. She didn't keep track for the entire school year or most of the summer 2002. But she did have cycles around 28 days between August 7 and Nov. 30 2002. Then her next cycles were 25; 19; 24; 21 and 22 days. She was in a dating relationship (did not involve sexual relations) which was very stressful for her during the 25 day cycle and ending at the beginning of the 19 day cycle or immediately thereafter. Do you think stress or something else could be causing her shorter cycles?

Thanks in advance.
