Dermatoligical questions are extremely difficult to answer when the physician cannot physically examine you. That is why you were answered in this way. Your condition could be many things and no one who has not seen it can tell. That's one of the problems with asking medical questions on the internet.

The only person who CAN answer you is your doc who has seen the conditon--all else will be pure speculation and what you describe could have may possible causes. Sorry.
