There is no link to weight gain and fibroids except in the case of really huge fibroids. Some of them can weigh several pounds, but in that case they'd be impinging on your bladder and bowels , causing all kinds of problems. You can have pain with large fibroids when they degenerate, but it is not the type of cyclical pain you describe. Also, the fibroids can put pressure on nearby organs. I don't doubt you're in pain, but I agree with your doctor. I hope they get to the root of your problem soon.

If you've only been trying to lose weight for six weeks, you might not see a big difference yet, but you should do so soon. You might want to consider the Atkins diet.
