Severe pelvic/vaginal pain

I am writing on behalf of a 48-year-old friend who is visually impaired and can't use the internet. For the past two years, my friend has had very severe pain that starts at her bladder and radiates down her vagina into her genital area. She has been to many doctors and so far has gotten no relief. She was suspected of having pudendal neuralgia, but she received several nerve blocks which had no effect whatsoever, so that seems to be eliminated. Last November she had a laparoscopy which showed that her fallopian tubes and ovaries were attached to her bladder. They removed the tubes and ovaries, and thought for sure that that was the solution to her problem. However, it's been 4 months and no relief - in fact, the pain seems to be getting worse. She has been taking OxyContin for the pain for a year, but it doesn't help either.

Are there any other avenues that we could consider? I'm not trying to second-guess a doctor, but I know that, given how busy doctors are, patients and their friends need to be advocates and do research as well. I'm trying to gather as much information as I can.

Where can we look next? Any ideas at all would be so much appreciated, as my friend is almost suicidal with pain and hopelessness.

Thank you in advance,
