I don't think it's going to cause serious damage... I did the same thing and bled a little bit. They just say that because you're still healing (I think). Not a doctor. The disgusting brown discharge is probably the stuff they put on your cervix where they biopsied so it wouldn't bleed. I call that stuff peanut butter. It's disgusting but it goes away.
