[birth control] please... it's the last time..From: martia (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 20 Feb 2003 17:40:22 -0600 (CST)
Posted some days ago asking about sporanox and pills and i was answered that backup contraception was needed while on sporanox and 7 day after, with no changes in the regular assumption of pills. I would only like to know why it is usually said -on the pill instructions- to skip 7 day break "if the seven days of required backup contraception after stoppin the treatment (of Sporanox in this case) go over the end of the packet of pills". which is my case. Plus, i read a post by Roberto that said that itraconazole could only increase hormonal concentration... so why backup method? is it sure that it is needed or this advice it's due to unintended pregnancies reported, with no scientific evidence? Many many thanks ps- perhaps if you answer it's the last time i annoy you with these things...
