laser conization

I am 25. April '02 abnormal pap-LSIL. August ASCUS. Biopsy in Sept. that was CIN II with a normal ECC. Had cryotherapy in Oct. I went back in Jan. for my follow up and had CIN II. I had been going to my family doc and was then referred to a GYNO in Jackson. I met with her the next week for a Thinprep PAP and HPV test. It came back CIN II and I have both low and high risk HPV types. I don't have external warts but do have them on the cervix. I went for a colpo/biopsy 2 weeks later. 3 biopsies were taken at 9, 12, and 3. 12 showed CIN I while 9 and 3 showed CIN II. The kicker was that the ECC showed CIN II. I had surgery last Friday with a gyno oncologist. He did a laser conization. I had a 3 day reprieve but am now in considerable pain with bleeding. The bleeding increases with stress as does the pain(I am a middle school teacher so that makes for lots of stress during the day.) This is normal, right? My main question is--how likely is it that I'll have a recurrence? Because of the high risk HPV type I'm worried. And how about the cervical stenosis? I read everything there was to read on this whole site for laser conization and saw lots of women who ended up with that...or lots that had to have another cone and such as that. I'm starting to worry about more procedures having to be done and my cervix scarring and closing up which seems to cause a whole nother set of problems. Please shed some light on my chances of recurrence and any reassurances would be appreciated. Thank you! Margaret
