Repost due to skipping previous message: Itraconazole and Birth Control PillsFrom: martia (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 17 Feb 2003 18:53:53 -0600 (CST)
Hope someone's gonna answer this: Having to take Sporanox for 24days while on monophasic low dosage combined pill, and assuming (?) that itraconazole lessens contraceptive effect, is it ok if: 1) Begin Sporanox when i have my period, start the new packet of pills and use condoms till packet has finished, then skip 7day break and wait 7 day of active pills after the end of the Sporanox treatment to stop using condoms OR 2) Begin Sporanox during my period, start new packet of pills and use condoms, finish Sporanox treatment, regurarly finish my packet of pills, wait for my period, have 7 day break, stop using condoms since i begin new packet of pills OR 3) Begin Sporanox during my period, start new packet of pills and use condoms, finish Sporanox treatment, finish regurarly my packet of pills, wait for my period, start new packet of pills the same day of my period and stop using condoms. These are three solution proposed to me by three different meds.... Choose one please..... or suggest what to do in alternative... Thank you so much Martia, Italy
