Blood won't come pouring out. Some women do not bleed at all, while others spot just a bit and others have a little heavier bleeding. It usually doesn't last for more than a day or so. If it is heavy, then a call to the Dr. is in order. Heavy bleeding like that doesn't occur often though. Bleeding like a period is the most that usually happens.

It is not unusual for a Dr. to use the smallest speculum on a virgin. Sometimes, they do not use one at all...just depends on what they are doing >

This is NOT true. The hymen does not have to be broken for an exam to be performed! Nor does it necessarily break the hymen! I know personally, I had an exam when I was 15, and I was a virgin....the speculum was used and my hymen remained intact.
